If roots get into the pipes, they can get bigger and drain lines can fail almost entirely. It’s very expensive to replace drain lines. The alternative is to keep lines clean and clear”.
“Are any of these DIY jobs or is it better to call a plumber immediately?”
“Well, a small block is a DIY job so long as you do not use anything sharp or acidic in the drains. But, if the block doesn’t go away with the plunger or the snake, you should call a plumber. If there’s a plumbing emergency at home, you life is suspended until it is rectified. So, it’s a good idea to identify a good plumber before the emergency strikes”.
